Antioxidant TBX, also well-known as Topanol A, AO6BX or Antioxidant LA, chemical name 2-(tert-Butyl)-4,6-dimethylphenol, with CAS No 1879-09-0 and EINECS No 217-533-1, is a liquid low-freezing monophenol hindered phenolic antioxidant with dual functions of anti-oxidation and polymerization inhibition. Its moderate steric hindrance structure enables efficient free radical capturing capacity, effectively suppressing thermal oxidation of aviation fuel, lubricating oil and polymer raw materials, preventing gum, sludge and viscosity increase during long-term storage. Meanwhile, TBX serves as a high-temperature resistant inhibitor for acrylic acid, MMA, unsaturated polyester and UV monomers, blocking uncontrolled self-polymerization during transportation, storage and distillation processes. Compared with solid BHT, TBX features liquid form with low freezing point, fully miscible with mineral oil, aromatic solvents and monomer systems without precipitation or crystallization at low temperature. It can be used independently or synergistically matched with phosphite Antioxidant 168 to form composite stabilization systems for polyolefin plastic, synthetic rubber and industrial grease, widely adopted by petrochemical, monomer synthesis and polymer processing factories globally.
